Goodlife Moves Into Downtown West
Attention anybody resolving to lose weight in the new year: Canderel is calling your bluff. If you're serious, you now have a gym. Downtown King West is getting another amenity jolt with the arrival of a 25k SF Goodlife Fitness facility on the second floor at 555 Richmond St W. There will be a ribbon-cutting today at 5pm. The Goodlife facility joins the new Loblaws grocery store that is going in at the base of Canderel's new DNA3 condo community around the corner on King Street West.
“There was a void in the Downtown West for a fitness facility of this calibre,” Canderel VP leasing and development Michael Vilner tells us. Plus it’s challenging to find large space like this in the downtown core, and Goodlife, judging by the high number of facilities it already has in the downtown, rarely passes up an opportunity like this. The 12-floor, 300k SF building has typical floorplates of 25k SF and has the necessary ceiling heights, underground parking, and one of Toronto's fastest-growing neighbourhoods at its doorstep, making the location a good choice, he adds.
