Master Plan for PATH Remains Essential Guide
The Master Plan for the underground PATH system that David spoke about was prepared by Urban Strategies and submitted to the city more than a year ago, and remains a guide for future planning, says Transportation Planning Section acting program manager Nigel Tahair. There are no hard and fast rules in terms of who pays for the extensions, Nigel says, but no one will deny the importance they play in opening up the developing south core to the rest of the city, especially if it encourages people to use public transit. Our intention is to always get the connection done as part of the project, Nigel says. The ideal scenario is where the developer is able to do the improvements and make the connection as part of the project they are building.
