US-based Simon Property Group's teaming up withCalloway REIT and SmartCentresto bring an outlet mall to Halton Hills (opening in August) is "a significant step in theexpansion of our brand, says Simon SVP Michele Rothstein.Theupscale outlet shopping centrewill feature many popular American brands (some, like Kate Spade New York, will be making their debut in Canada, which is why so many ladies are smiling lately). Its next Canadian project will be Premium Outlets Montreal, slated for opening in Mirabel, Quebec, next year.
