4 Teams Shortlisted For Latest Union Station Upgrade
Four teams have been shortlisted for the latest stage of the $800M Union Station Revitalization Project.
The winning team will be evaluated by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario after designing and building transit infrastructure and upgrades for an aging transit hub.
Named finalists are: OnTrack Alliance (Constructor: Kiewit and Alberici/Design: WSP), GTA Alliance (EllisDon and Keltbray/AECOM), Zeidler and Stevenson Engineering, OneUnion Alliance (Aecon, Modern Niagara and PNR RailWorks/Mott MacDonald and Systra) and Union Gateway Alliance (Dragados/Parson and Hatch).
The teams will be judged on "team composition, experience in collaborative project delivery, health and safety, and past project examples," an Infrastructure Ontario release said.
The finalist is expected to be named this summer and will be asked to submit a proposal and collaborate with Metrolinx and IO on its improvements.
The Union Station Revitalization Project has been ongoing since 2015 at the historic, century-old station, which sees 300,000 visitors each day. The project is a collaborative effort between the city ($640M), Ontario ($191M) and the federal government ($164M).
