Larco Investments Forges Ahead With Château Laurier Revamp Bid
Château Laurier owner Larco Investments is moving ahead on its proposal to build an addition to the iconic Ottawa hotel, with two buildings (11 storeys on the east side and 12 storeys on the west side, both atop a podium) containing 218 long-stay hotel units. The changes to the Château Laurier — which include a new interior courtyard adjacent to the hotel ballroom, and five-level underground parking to replace the existing structure — aim to address a growing need for long-term-stay accommodation in the nation’s capital. The existing 426-unit hotel would not be affected.
