Templar Hotel, A Kobe And Drake Destination, Is On The Block
Kobe and Dwayne Wade partied there during NBA All-Star Weekend in February. Drake did a photo shoot there in April, right before dropping Views. And this week the Templar Hotel at 348 Adelaide St W is on the block under a power of sale. An eight-storey building with 27 guest rooms, including four penthouse suites, the Templar, built in 2004, has become a celebrity hotspot. But Core Consultants Realty managing director Shawn Abramovitz, co-listing agent for the property with associate Adam Robinson, tells us the hotel had a rocky start. When his client bought it in 2014, "it was a bit of a disaster.”
The Templar’s new owners reno'd all guest rooms and bathrooms, repaired the HVAC and added a fusion restaurant, Parcae (above). The street-level restaurant and hotel have the same owner, so Shawn says whoever buys the Templar has the option of bringing in their own bar/eatery. “It’s an asset with lots of future upside,” notes the alum of Lennard Commercial Realty and DTZ Barnicke, who launched Core Consultants in January with Sari Samarah (formerly of The Behar Group). “There aren’t many boutique hotels on the market in Toronto with a $1 starting bid.”
