Google Joins Market Leaders With Canada's Fourth LEED v4 Certification
Phase 1 of Google's offices in Kitchener, Ontario, has earned LEED v4 Silver for Interior Design and Construction from the Canada Green Building Council. It marks the nation's fourth LEED v4 certification.
The 100K SF office is in the Breithaupt Block, a redeveloped historic building in downtown Kitchener. The building is expected to minimize the impact of vehicle use and save 500,000 litres of water a year.
Google also is targeting LEED v4 with Phase 2 of its office project.
“With this certification, Google joins an elite group of owners in Canada who have demonstrated leadership by committing to LEED v4 — one of the world’s most widely accepted, advanced and effective building rating systems,” CaGBC president and CEO Thomas Mueller said.
