How to Earn Elite BOMA 360
Everyone, even laymen, seem to have a grasp on what LEED means. But now BOMA 360 certification is in play. What's its significance? We asked Brookfield's Canadian operations and sustainability VP Kristina Schwartz, whose company's entire, 17-property Canadian office building portfolio has received the BOMA 360 sustainability certification. This makes it the only landlord in the country to have secured the designation.
BOMA 360 evaluates more than just environmental criteria; it also looks at: building operations and management; tenant relations and community involvement; training and education; and security and risk management. Kristina says BOMA 360 is a complement to LEED certification, which 75% of Brookfield's buildings have received (including First Canadian Place, seen above.) And it shows tenants the company is taking a holistic approach to property management, she notes.
