Mississauga Executive Centre a BOMA 360 First For Colliers
Mississauga Executive Centre (MEC) is the first Colliers Canada-managed building to earn the BOMA 360 designation, as part of a nationwide program pilot. (BOMA International launched the program in the US in 2009.) Senior property manager Catherine Grammatikos tells us MEC—owned by Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Co and ONTARI Holdings—got the designation for all four buildings in the complex on Robert Speck Parkway, 1.1M SF in total (with 95% occupancy). It's a good start, she notes. Brookfield Properties has 18 BOMA 360 designations.
In cuter news, you may recall MEC made headlines in Bisnow last year when its resident peregrine falcons, Sante and Rogue, welcomed their first hatch, baby Mason (pictured). Office park tenants watched all the action via a live feed of a nest box located atop 1 Robert Speck Pkwy. We asked Catherine for a falcon update. “Mason grew to become a strong male who has since gone on his way,” she says. But the camera feed recently showed a female nesting two new eggs, southern Ontario's first this season. “We patiently wait for the hatchlings to arrive.”
