Cadillac Fairview Launches Olympic Lounges Across Canada

Cadillac Fairview hopes to keep fans and shoppers up to date and excited about the Winter Olympics with the launch of CF Brighter Lounges at its properties across Canada.

The 23 interactive lounges — launched in partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee — will showcase live CBC coverage of the Pyeongchang, South Korea, games and offer insight into the trials and triumphs of several new Olympic athletes. 

“We wanted a different experience. A unique experience,” Cadillac Fairview Vice President of National Consumer Marketing Craig Flannagan said at the official launch of the lounges at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre. “We feel that we have a bold and optimistic view at the company, and we wanted to get that out.”

The lounges also reflect Cadillac Fairview’s new multiyear partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee. Following the Winter Games, the COC will officially open its office on the 30th floor of CF’s 250 Yonge St. office tower, part of the Eaton Center. Flannagan said the Olympics are a perfect fit for CF’s positive approach.

“We looked around, and there really wasn’t a better partner than the Olympics. That was something we got really excited about,” Flannagan said.

Adding some athleticism to the lounge launch was 2006 Olympic moguls gold medalist Jennifer Heil, who brought her gold (Turin, 2006) and silver (Vancouver, 2010) medals along. She said she still gets nervous when the games come around.

“I feel immense excitement for Team Canada,” Heil said. “And certainly in moguls. There’s a lot of pressure on that team because they are the world’s best. So I feel anxiety for them.”

Brighter Lounges can be found in the GTA at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Sherway Gardens, the Markville Shopping Center, the Shops at Don Mills, the Fairview Mall and the TD Centre. They will operate for the run of the games from Feb. 9 through Feb. 25.
