Simons is doubling its footprint at Galeries de la Capitale, taking over the 80k SF former Target space (behold its existing Roman-inspired storefront above). It’s a big boost for the Quebec City shopping centre, owned by Oxford Properties and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Describing Simons as a “full-fledged Quebec crown jewel,” mall GM Serge Rossignol says the retailer plans to introduce its department store concept, “a space that is undoubtedly one of the most strategic in the region.” A $50M reno of the mall has included an expanded H&M and a new Forever 21. Another $40M investment to revamp common areas and entrances was announced last week.
