Chartwell Retirement Residences Acquires 3 Ontario Properties
Chartwell Retirement Residences has acquired three Ontario retirement properties for $170.7M, part of an expansion strategy fuelled by proceeds from the firm’s recent US portfolio sale. The deal includes: The Village of Oxford Gardens in Woodstock, a 185-suite residence finished in 2012 and 88% occupied; Montgomery Village Seniors Community in Orangeville, a 136-unit building opened in 2012 with 93% occupancy (and land for development of up to 69 more suites); and Harwood Place Seniors Community, a 126-suite residence in Ajax (above) that opened last month, with 56% of the suites pre-leased.
