Burnaby Deal Boost Flex Market
CBRE Vancouver SVP Kevin Nelson recently brokered two deals in the new phase of Amacon's New Haven Business Park located in Burnaby, reducing available space in the park by half. New B Innovation, a Hong Kong Pharmaceutical company, leased 47k SF and will invest $13M to build out their new space. The company will ultimately hire 120 people to develop and manufacture drugs in Canada. (We bet flu shot day is a holiday there.)
Kardium, a medical device manufacturer, also leased 48k SF. Kardium will have both office space and clean rooms, and will be manufacturing the next generation of heart surgery devices. (Call us old-fashioned, but we think the last generation of heart surgery devices worked harder and respected its aortic valves more.) "This leasing activity represents a boost to the flex industrial market and demand for next generation flex buildings," Kevin tells us.
