Beer for Young People (But Not That Young)
The beer wholesale industry is full of family businesses that get handed down. But sometimes that next generation doesn’t know much about the ins and outs of running the show and has few contacts to lean on. The National Beer Wholesalers Association launched a Next Generation group over a year ago and has been pleasantly surprised to see over 200 people join. It offers them leadership tracks and seminars, along with networking events. The youngest member is still in college (of course) and the oldest is in his 60s but is the next generation to take on the family business from his 80-something father. Group chair Adam Vitale, who took over his family’s beer wholesale business, says it gets younger members more engaged and helps build loyalty in the association.
