ABA Hires New Leader

Placeholder

The American Bankers Association has a new chief: Rob Nichols, a former Treasury Department official who’s been leading the Financial Services Forum, which represents big banks, insurers and asset managers. He replaces former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating and starts at the beginning of August, reports The Wall Street Journal. He’ll transition from advocating for financial sector giants like Goldman Sachs and MetLife to speaking on behalf of banks of all sizes, including the small, locally focused community bankers who make up most of ABA’s membership.
