Association Vows Support For France
The Global Business Travel Association pledged to work with governments, private industry and business travelers to ensure the safety of the global travel system. GBTA president Christie Johnson says the Paris terrorist attacks that killed over 120 people were an attack on “our modern way of life.” She also vowed to provide resources to travelers who were stranded after French President Francois Hollande closed the French borders. The association says it will also learn more about how the attacks were executed. Paris is considered the center of a tourist industry that makes up around 8% of the French economy. Over 22 million tourists stayed in Paris hotels in 2014.
