Housing Applicants Go Digital
The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County unveiled an online portal recently that will streamline housing assistance applications. Executive Director Stacy Spann, speaking at the unveiling, says in the past, people applied for each housing program on separate paper forms in person. Now they can apply through a single form that’s not specific to any program. Stacy says the system will allow the commission to speed up the process, track people’s needs more accurately, and have direct contact with applicants. The portal had over 17,000 applicants in one week.
