Ice Bucket Challenge is Back!
The ritual of dumping ice over your head and challenging others to do the same in the name of raising money for ALS research will take place in August. Last year the ALS Association raised $115M through the challenge and this year, the goal, naturally, is to raise more. One way to do that is telling participants how the money raised last year is being spent. The majority is going toward research and the rest is funding patient and community services, public and professional education, fundraising and processing fees. The association is also offering tips on its website for saving water. One idea: Use kale instead of ice.
