Leukemia Ball's Entertainment, Prizes And Big Fundraising Goal
The 29th Annual Leukemia Ball, presented by PhRMA, will celebrate the progress in blood cancer research on Saturday, March 12. Held at the Washington Convention Center, the event should raise $3.1M for innovative life-saving research and patient programs funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Event co-chair and BDO CEO Wayne Berson (right, with LLS executive director Beth Gorman and senior co-chair, Baker Tilly’s Ed Offterdinger) says the Leukemia Ball is a great way to support LLS’s mission and help patients battling blood cancers. New this year is a Young Professionals ticket to make the event more accessible to the many young adults who will become the next generation of leaders. Seventy-four cents of every dollar spent by LLS funds its mission: to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Berson says LLS will honor Morgan Franklin Consulting CEO C.E. Andrews with the 2016 James L. Eichberg Lifetime Achievement Award. Attendees should also expect top-notch entertainment from Barenaked Ladies and comic Kathleen Madigan. The Leukemia Ball is one of the season's top charity galas and largest non-political black-tie DC events with 2,000 guests and the year's best raffle: two Mercedes, 2016 GLC300 4MATIC SUV (MSRP: $40,950) and the 2016 C300 4MATIC Sports Sedan (MSRP: $40,950).
