One of the reasons there’s not enough affordable housing in the DC region is many units are taken by people who earn too much. The problem is being seen all over the country. A recent report by the watchdog for Housing and Urban Development says 25,000 “over income” families are living in government-subsidized housing, reports the Washington Post. HUD has no plans to kick out these families because its policies don’t require it. [WaPo]
