VA Grants Available to Help Homeless Vets
Veterans Affairs secretary Robert McDonald recently said some soldiers have been left behind: homeless veterans. So his agency just announced $300M in grants available to nonprofits and other groups that serve veterans through its Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. It helps very low-income veteran families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Last year, 70,000 veterans and their families were placed in permanent housing or prevented from becoming homeless. The goal of the program is to end homelessness by the end of 2015.
