DC Gives Foreign Investors Best Bang for Their Buck
We warned you not to panic about the supposed decline of DC in the eyes of foreign investors, and we were right. A new report found that DC office properties over the past 20 years have netted an annualized return above 10%. That's a better ROI than the national office rate and the S&P 500 over the last decade, according to a report co-authored by NGKF's Greg Leisch and Sandy Paul. DC's ROI of 10.08% nearly doubled the rate of return on capital government bonds over the same time frame. Even investments like Norges Bank's purchase of PNC Place for more than $1k/SF don't seem so crazy when considering the District's ROI.
