JLL Hires Broker From Eastdil Secured To Co-Lead D.C. Multifamily Investment Sales Team
JLL has hired a new broker to help lead its D.C. capital markets team.
Bret Thompson will join JLL as a senior director in its D.C. office after spending five years as a vice president at Eastdil Secured, the firm announced Wednesday.
Thompson will work alongside Senior Director Robert Jenkins to lead the firm's multifamily investment sales and advisory practice in the region.
"Multi-housing continues to be a very active and appealing property type for investors," JLL Senior Managing Director Jamie Leachman, co-head of the firm's D.C. capital markets team, said in a statement. “We are really excited to have Bret back on our team and look forward to the contributions Bret and Robert will make to grow JLL’s market share in the D.C. metro.”
Thompson worked as an associate director at HFF from 2010 to 2015. HFF was acquired by JLL in 2019.
The hire comes after D.C. multifamily investment sales brokers Brian Crivella and Walter Coker left JLL in September to join Berkadia. JLL has been looking to solidify its top talent after the HFF acquisition led to fears of a shake-up.
Chicago-based JLL has more than 3,000 capital markets brokers worldwide and a total workforce of more than 95,000. In August, the firm hired Jeanette Ko from Cushman & Wakefield to join its D.C. agency leasing team.
