Ballard Spahr's Housing Outlook
Ballard Spahr partner Amy McClain has been with the firm since her first summer associate position, doing work with local housing authorities and repping affordable housing developers. She says what's trending now is how to do more with less--including how the federal landscape is going to roll in the age of sequestration. It's about being creative with public housing and other affordable housing assets, and using the value of the land to enhance the property. But the biggest challenge? The backlog of capital improvements and repairs these properties face. How it gets done, Amy says, is by being adaptively creative, even though sometimes you feel as though you're ready to start passing the hat. For more information on our sponsor, click here.
