MIT Real Estate Competition
Is the J. Edgar Hoover Building the best development site in town? That's what MIT's Lisa Thoma tells us, and the school is so interested in the building's future, it's created a case competition with 32 other grad real estate programs to plan the site's redevelopment. The schools span the globe from North America to Hong Kong, and participating teams will be narrowed down to three finalists in April. (Remember, Maya Lin was a 21-year-old undergrad when she designed the Vietnam Memorial. So these grad students are probably all little Frank Gehrys.) Local MIT alum Oliver Carr III (class of '92) urges you to follow the results. Find more info here.
