NOVA's Data Center Boom Continues
When JLL managing director Allen Tucker, left, isn’t cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers with Curt Holcomb from JLL’s Data Center Solutions Group in Dallas, he’s tallying up data center space in Northern Virginia. His latest count puts the NOVA market at 2.4M SF of data centers with 498.3 megawatts of available power, ranking seventh among Tier 1 data center markets behind cities like Atlanta, Boston and Chicago. And it’s only expected to grow, he tells us, with over 107K SF of data center development underway in Northern Virginia and an additional 882,150 SF planned. Allen, who runs JLL’s Tysons office, says Loudoun County still has 80% of the data center market, followed by Prince William County.
