Property Management's Top Women
Moments ago, we stopped by the Institute of Real Estate Managers annual conference at the Omni Shoreham, where on a women's panel, Kettler Management prez Cindy Clare (middle) said she doesn't look for talented women for her firm--she looks for talented people. Talented women typically present themselves as a virtue of that, Cindy says. She's flanked above by BSA Management principal Stephanie Burg-Brown of Philadelphia and Spherexx.com prez Becca Wilson from Tulsa.
Cassidy Turley's Marla Maloney (right, with moderator and IREM president Beth Machen) oversees the firm's 455M SF management portfolio nationwide and says that the key to a successful PM operation is communicating expectations clearly with a client, plus not losing sight of the fact that relationships are what matter. As for work-life balance, Marla says being a mother helps her prioritize and has actually made her a better leader at work.
