Silver Anniversary
On Friday, we snapped CohnReznick Bethesda office managing partner Jim Martinko over a light meal at nearby Food & Wine, which seems to double as the firm's executive dining room. Though he deserved a big chocolate cake, all we gave him was a salad and ice tea to celebrate a quarter century with the explosively growing firm. Other congrats are in order: Jim's former co-head of the office, Dave Kessler, has become head of the firm's national real estate practice. The Bethesda office will soon house 500 employees with the addition of 100 new colleagues from CohnReznick’s combination with Watkins Meegan later this month. The firm's Mid-Atlantic region (Bethesda, Tysons, Herndon, Baltimore, and Annapolis) will comprise 800 of CohnReznick’s national 2,750 employees. And CohnReznick has now attained elite classification as one of the largest 10 accounting firms in the US. Leading us to wonder: Jim, how can you take time out for lunch anymore?
