Silver Spring Groundbreaking
Yesterday, Insight Property Group and Nova-Habitat broke ground on Fenwick Station, the partnership's 310-unit apartment complex in Silver Spring at the US Postal Service's former distribution center. (The news of no Saturday delivery is one day old and already we're building over the USPS ruins.) The site, just two blocks from the Silver Spring Metro, will include a public plaza and Capital Bikeshare station. Snapped at the groundbreaking: Insight's Mike Blum, Montgomery Co exec Ike Leggett, Insight's Sarah Davidson and Maury Stern, Nova-Habitat's Ed Novak, Insight's Trent Smith, Lerch Early's Robert Harris, and Insight's Richard Hausler.
Sarah tells us the first units will deliver late summer 2014, with the rest by December of next year. Here's a rendering of the property and the public plaza along the sidewalk.
