This Morning in Long Island City
This was our view this morning from Long Island City of the Manhattan skyline, and you can see many of its iconic buildings: the top of 1 World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the MetLife building, Bank of America Tower at Bryant Park, the UN Building, Trump UN Plaza, Bloomberg Tower, and the new One57.
A crowd of over 250 packed the Water's Edge restaurant this morning for our event on the area, to hear the president of TF Cornerstone, a preeminent New York builder active in LIC, as well as the local city councilman and many other top figures. The submarket is on pace for nearly 20,000 units of residential in the next few years, and the traditional industrial buildings that populated the area are being rapidly repositioned as everything from medical office to restaurants to handle the spillover from higher-priced Manhattan.
