Two DC Deals for Douglas
Douglas Development announced a couple of DC deals yesterday, starting with the seven-year renewal of architecture firm Hickok Cole at 1023 31st St in Georgetown, where the team (led by Yolanda Cole and Mike Hickok, above, middle) has occupied 24k SF since 2001. Yolanda tells us the firm decided to stay put because the design fits its culture and is a great venue for client meetings and special events. Plus, "where else could we have both a balcony and our own stoop?"
And over in Chinatown, Douglas announced the purchase of The Moran Building at 700 5th St. According to public record, the company closed on the building last Thursday for $4.7M. We bet Doug Jemal has big plans... or he just wanted a Burger King Whopper really bad. With him, it's hard to tell.
