International architecture firm Gensler has promoted Lisa Amster to co-manager of its DC office.

She will join Jordan Goldstein—who was also promoted to co-managing principal of the Southeast—in overseeing the second-largest architecture office in the District, the Washington Business Journal reports. Lisa is a 35-year industry veteran who has spent the last 15 years with Gensler, where she has worked on high-profile projects like the Washington Post’s new HQ at One Franklin Square. Lisa credited Gensler’s co-CEO, Diane Hoskins, with creating an environment that welcomes women and encourages their growth into leadership roles.

Gensler announced several other changes to help ring in the new year, including the promotion of Goldstein to co-managing principal of the firm’s Southeast region. He'll continue to serve as co-managing director in DC, a role he has served in for the past eight years. Back in October, Jordan recruited the husband-and-wife team of Phil Esocoff and Amy Weinstein, who owned their own firm, to join Gensler’s growing mixed-use practice. [WBJ]
