New Kids On The Block: Office Tenants And Developers In Tysons
Tysons doesn’t know how not to grow. The area's been attracting a swelling stream of new businesses since its inception as a major commercial center in 1963. And 2016 looks to be the biggest year yet. Here are some of the major projects.
Lerner is close to completing one of the most eco-friendly buildings in the US, 1775 Tysons Blvd, which will house the new corporate HQs of Computer Sciences Corp and the consulting firm EY. Capital One is also building a massive new corporate HQ in Tysons, which will include a Wegmans next door.
The Meridian Group is building an entire neighborhood by the Greensboro Station called The Boro, which will include six buildings, four parking garages, a Whole Foods, a luxury movie theater and three new roads.
A slew of massive residential projects will bolster Tysons' emerging ability to compete with the other DC suburbs as a livable urban center. Lerner Enterprises is moving forward with the largest condo project in the Washington area since the recession: The Residences at Tysons II, right next to Tysons Galleria.
