Pop-Up Beer Garden Proposed for NoMa
NoMa’s new REI has been searching for space to use for free classes and promotional events, Hill Now reports. And that's spawned new interest in a stalled plan to create a pop-up community beer garden on the 8k SF vacant lot at 150 M St NE (above). Wunder Garten, brainchild of Allon Pultuskier, wife and consultant Biva Ranjeet, and L’Enfant Café co-owner Christopher Lynch, will be a grassy utopia full of “beer benches” where Frisbee-throwing locals can partake of German and Austrian beers afternoon and night. There will also be Bavarian-centric food trucks, Hill Now reports, and “high-end Porta-Pottys," possibly a children’s playground, and maybe even a spot for Fido. The owners hope to open Wunder Garten in mid-April and run it through Sept. 1.
