Streetsense Hires New COO From Rand Construction
Streetsense has just added a 30-year commercial real estate veteran to its C-suite.
The Bethesda-based strategy and design firm announced Tuesday it hired Kurt Haglund as its chief operating officer. Haglund most recently served as COO of Rand Construction.
Prior to his three years at Rand, Haglund spent one year at Gensler, 13 years at JLL, six years at The Staubach Co., four years at KCG Associates and 11 years at RTKL, according to his LinkedIn page. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1990.
The hire comes after Streetsense in June acquired New York-based economic development strategy firm Larisa Ortiz Associates and named its founder and namesake a managing director of research and analysis.
In late 2017, CBRE acquired Streetsense's entire retail brokerage division and a 50% stake in its strategy and design operation. Since then, Streetsense has opened offices in Los Angeles and Madrid, in addition to its existing outposts in Bethesda and New York City.
"Kurt’s role leading Streetsense’s global business operations will reinforce and strengthen our commitment to delivering unparalleled creative solutions for clients and their customers," Streetsense CEO Brian Taff said in a release. "As we continue to expand and work with clients across the world, operations and seamless execution are critical to our continued success, Kurt has both the strategic and tactical experience and thinking necessary to further our goal to evolve the Streetsense brand and its positive impact on the communities in which we work."
