Plans Filed For 407-Unit Multifamily Project At Rosslyn's RCA Building
Surrounded by shiny new buildings like 1812 North Moore and Central Place, Rosslyn's 47-year-old RCA building looks like a natural candidate for redevelopment.
The owner, Weissberg Investment Corp., has filed plans to tear down the building and build a 24-story multifamily tower in its place, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The plans call for 407 multifamily units, both rental and for-sale, and 13K SF of ground-floor retail. The building's south wing would have 285 units and its north wing would have 122 units.
At 1901 North Moore St., the current 158K SF building sits about a block from Rosslyn's Metro station and JBG's two-building Central Place development with a retail plaza slated to open this year.
When the redevelopment was rumored back in September, Weissberg Corp.'s Nina Weissberg told Bisnow the owner plans to move forward with redevelopment as soon as market conditions allow. The decision to convert the building from office to residential is a move local officials have supported in the face of high office vacancy rates and strong multifamily demand.
