Eastdil Secured Brings On D.C.-Based Hotel Broker From CBRE
Eastdil Secured is bolstering its national hotel practice with a new hire from CBRE.
The firm announced Wednesday it brought on Andy Wimsatt as managing director in its D.C. office to focus on hotel equity and debt placement.
Wimsatt previously led CBRE Hotels' Institutional Properties Group, a national hotel brokerage team, out of the firm's D.C. office. He represented lodging REITs, private equity groups and national developers in buying, selling and financing hotel deals.
Before joining CBRE in 2010, Wimsatt spent 20 years with Marriott International, leading the hotel giant's growth throughout Latin America.
"Andy is an outstanding addition to our national platform, and we are excited to welcome him to the firm," Eastdil Secured Managing Director Louis Stervinou said in a release. "His decades of experience coupled with his extensive relationships with a plethora of hotel REITs and C-Corps will be tremendously beneficial to Eastdil Secured and our clients as we continue to strengthen and expand our leading national hotel practice."
The hire comes as Eastdil is undergoing an ownership change. Wells Fargo last month confirmed it is selling the firm to Eastdil's executives alongside Guggenheim Investments clients and Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings.
