Frontier Development Breaks Ground On $20M Homewood Suites In Largo
Prince George's County will soon welcome its first Homewood Suites by Hilton, thanks to Frontier Development & Hospitality Group.
Frontier broke ground Monday on a 116-room hotel at 9103 Basil Court in Largo. The $20M project is slated to deliver in late 2018.
The upscale hotel will feature 2,700 SF of meeting space and an outdoor patio with a grill, fire pit and basketball court. It will offer free WiFi, laundry facilities, complimentary hot breakfast and weeknight evening socials.
South Carolina-based OTO Management will manage the hotel. The project was funded in part by $1.5M from Prince George's County's Economic Development Incentive Fund.
"Since the day we indicated that we wanted to build ‘Downtown Largo’ and make it a hub for healthcare, the business community has responded by bringing new housing, restaurants, retail and hotels like this exciting new Homewood Suites to the area,” Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker said in a release.
Frontier owns an adjacent hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton, and its CEO believes the two will complement each other well.
"Our new Homewood Suites brings a contemporary, upscale extended stay lodging option to Largo, providing travelers tremendous value with a variety of amenities," Frontier CEO Evens Charles said in a release.
