Watergate Hotel Hosts Topping Off Ceremony, Introduces ‘Mad Men’ Uniforms
Yesterday, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Mad Men designer Janie Bryant joined Euro Capital Properties principal Jacques Cohen and Design & Development director Rakel Cohen for the topping off of the Watergate Hotel’s newest addition. The 7k SF Moretti ballroom provides much-needed meetings and event space, and will reopen this summer after a $125M renovation. During the ceremony, hotel execs, design partners and local dignitaries “planted the future” by putting May Night Salvia seeds into the soil. When the historically significant plants mature, they’ll be incorporated into the landscape. Guests also got a first look at the The Moretti Ballroom, and the 12th floor rooftop’s 360-degree Potomac views. Event space will total 27k SF on the waterfront, with state-of-the-art tech and outdoor terraces. The 340-room hotel will also have fine dining and casual options, a whisky bar, and a spa and fitness facility with an indoor pool.
