H Street Church Makes Way for Mixed-Use Project
S2 Development has submitted plans for a four-story mixed-use building at the site of a vacant church on the H Street corridor.
The proposed building would be at 1301 H St NE, home of the former St. John’s Church of God, which would be demolished. The developer plans nine condos from 1k to 1,100 SF for the upper three floors. Retail space totaling 5.6k SF is planned for the ground and cellar floors.
A subsidiary of S2 Development called 3317 16th Street submitted the project documents to the District for approval. This would be the latest of several projects planned for the H Street corridor, including Douglas Development’s six-story project at 501 H St NE. [Hill]
