Breaking News: Rosslyn Set to Roar?
That submarket across the river is gathering force. A lion of regional development, JBG, announced this morning it's found a major financial partner for its ambitious $220M apartment project in Rosslyn. Moreover, it plans to start construction Monday, SVP Andy VanHorn told us moments ago.
First came Monday Properties' gleaming new office building at 1812 North Moore. Now JBG's formed a JV with the State Teacher's Retirement System of Ohio for the 420k SF residential/retail component of its planned 1M SF Central Place, between North Moore and North Lynn streets. Designed by NY's Beyer Blinder Belle, and to be constructed by Clark, it will be 31 stories of 377 luxury apartments and 30k SF of restaurants and bars. Next week they'll start utility relocation, demolition of an existing McDonald's (Wait, what? Whoa, whoa, whoa... easy boys, can't we talk about this first?), and clearing and grading of the site. They hope to be in ground in three months, and deliver in Feb. 2017.
