Buchanan Partners Plans 1,000-Unit Mixed-Use Development In Woodbridge
D.C. is experiencing a rapid development boom along its waterfront, and now one of its outer suburbs is creating a man-made waterfront to get in on the action.
Buchanan Partners filed plans in October to build 1,000 residential units, 175K SF of office and 125K SF of retail on a 145-acre site at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road in Woodbridge, UrbanTurf reports.
The project would include several buildings around a man-made lake with a pedestrian bridge. The developer is working with community engagement platform CoUrbanize to solicit public input about the project as the county reviews its proposal.
The 145-acre Prince William County property sits just off Interstate 95, about 27 miles south of D.C. The development site is across the street from a shopping center anchored by Lowe's, Home Depot, Aldi and Kohl's.
