Capital One Adds Wegmans To Expanded Tysons HQ Plans

Capitol One Bank has proposed additional changes to its 26-acre corporate campus in Tysons, and one of the additions would be the exploding mixed-use neighborhood's first Wegmans.

The company returned to Fairfax County last week with plans to grow the campus from the previously approved 4.97M SF to 5.26M SF, the Washington Business Journal reports. The expanded plans include room for a Wegmans, which will be incorporated into the footprint.

The campus is currently developed with a 14-story, 479k SF office building, a 26k SF conference facility and a nine-level parking garage. In addition to the Wegmans, Capital One presented final plans for three residential towers with 826 total units that will sit atop the Wegmans and a 100k SF corporate center. Previously approved plans include up to four additional office buildings, two hotels and a fourth residential building.

Construction is underway on a 470-foot-tall, 940k SF HQ building on a parcel fronting the beltway, which will be the tallest office building in NoVa upon completion. Earlier this month, Capital One signed on as an anchor tenant at the Silverline Center, and has been gobbling up leased space in the area as the company grows. [WBJ]
