Gilbane To Break Ground On West Hyattsville Apartment And Townhouse Community
A rendering of Gilbane's Riverfront at West Hyattsville project
Gilbane is bullish on transit-oriented development in Prince George's County.
The builder/developer is planning a 430-unit project near the College Park Metro station, and is preparing to break ground on a 483-unit project next to the West Hyattsvile Metro.
The Riverfront at West Hyattsville Metro will include 183 townhouses and 300 apartment units, plus 9k SF of retail and a 4.5-acre park. The developer purchased the 18.5-acre site, currently home to a vacant 250k SF warehouse, in 2015 for more than $7M.
The development will be built in two phases, with construction on the townhouses starting this spring and sales expected to begin by year-end.
This is just the latest in a number of developments for Prince George's County, which has undergone a revitalization along the Route 1 corridor, opened a $1.5B casino in National Harbor, is planning a $543M regional medical center in Largo and is investing $100M in Suitland.
