Renderings Unveiled For EastBanc’s Georgetown Project

Renderings have been unveiled for EastBanc’s planned redevelopment of a site that currently houses a gas station in Georgetown.

The company has been working through some zoning snags at 2715 Pennsylvania Ave NW, the site of a planned seven-unit project. As part of a new project filing with the Zoning Commission, new renderings are out that give us a sneak peek into what EastBanc has in mind, reports Urban Turf.

The project is slated to include a ground-floor restaurant, topped with four levels of residential units with an average size of 2k SF, and a penthouse level that will include a gym and small terrace. Award-winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura has been tasked with design for the project, which will head before zoning this summer.

EastBanc filed a PUD application last summer, but since the site is just a shade over 7,400 SF, it fails to meet the minimum requirements for PUD sites. The company was originally considering pursuing a zoning text amendment to cut the minimum size of PUDs to 10k SF, but shifted gears last month and is now seeking a simple exception to allow the project to move forward. [UT]
