16 Things You Need to Know This Morning
What You Don't Know About Johnny Moseley

Title: President, Moseley Construction Group
Company: Launched in 2007 – 33 employees focused on multi-family boutique projects (under 100 units) and multi-family renovations. $40m in annual revenue with 50% coming from DC projects and the rest from all over region. 
Job: Spend 50% of time on new business and meeting prospects. Other half is market strategy and vision, creating company culture, and holding accountable head of operations, estimating, and finance. 
Memorable project: The first Moseley project – multi-family renovation of 830 units on South 28th St., in Arlington. Project paved the way for firm to eventually focus exclusively on multi-family projects. 
Current project: Have 3,197 units under construction, including several boutique new construction condo buildings. Also recently finished $3M lobby renovation for Crystal Plaza (Arlington) and now working on renovating its 534 apartments.
Why CRE career: Worked for home-builder grandfather in the summers. After four years in the Marine Corps, answered newspaper ad for carpenter. Career took off. 
Grew up: On a farm in Freeport, Fla.
Current home: Hamilton, Va.
Why DMV: While in Marine Corps, got stationed at Quantico, met future wife, a Virginia native.
School: Freeport High. 
Person (living or dead) to meet: Jim Clarke – want to pick his brain about growing Clarke Construction. 
Greatest fear: Recession. 
Favorite music group and song: Blake Shelton - My Eyes.
Favorite book: Good to Great by Jim Collins.
Favorite movie: The Avengers (2012).
Favorite vacation: Orlando.
Favorite restaurant: Kobe Japanese Steak & Seafood.
Bucket list: Heli-skiing with sons. 
Family facts: Married 18 years; two daughters (one goes to University of Alabama), two sons; and two chihuahuas.
Hobbies: Boys basketball coach and camping.
Startling fact: “Mark Moseley is not my father.” (People ask regularly.)
