What You Don’t Know About Meredith Roark

Job: Strategy, client relations, and oversee third-party management team of 265 employees, managing 26M SF of industrial and office space from Baltimore to Richmond and Norfolk. 
Company: Property management group has 483M SF under management in 824 buildings nationally. 
Most nerve-wracking job aspects: Being prepared for terrorist attacks like the one in France and keeping costs down. 
Memorable project: In 2009, before current role, transitioned 21 buildings from Baltimore to Rockville with a team of 8 engineers and a temp with no real estate experience. 
Why property management career: Answered a job ad for administrative assistant and worked up through the ranks. Love seeing the full cycle of a building through rehabs, new tenants, and repositionings. 
Grew up: Georgia Ave., in Silver Spring. Went to John F. Kennedy HS.
Best DC childhood memory: Going to Farrell’s Ice Cream in Wheaton Plaza. 
Current home: Frederick.
School: Frostburg State.
First job: Neighborhood pool life guard. 
Job in another life: Professional cook for working mom friends. 
Daily habit: Cup of coffee and a vitamin. 
Favorite apps: Waze and WTSO (Wine Til Sold Out).  
Favorite movie: Harry Potter series (with the kids).
Favorite restaurant: Il Pizzico, Rockville.
Favorite music group: Maroon 5.
Favorite vacation spot: Deep Creek Lake in summer and winter. 
Guilty pleasure: Five-day vacation with husband and friends – no kids and no cell service. 
Bucket list: Half Ironman and cooking school.
Family: Married 18 years; two daughters (10 and 13).
Hobbies: Triathlons, stand-up paddle boarding, fitness and health junkie. 
Startling fact: Been married 18 years. (Hitched at 24.)
