15 Things You Need to Know This Morning

What You Don’t Know About Tim Eden

Job: Launched 3-person company in 2003 to develop residential and retail properties (2-3 projects ongoing at any given time) in DC region, mainly infill Metro locations.
Years in CRE: 28.
Memorable project: Potomac Yard Arlington, now called National Gateway. With Meridian Group, acquired 2.8M SF of residential, office, hotel, and retail sites in 2004 and sold most parcels in 2008, except an office site, where 450k SF office complex was developed. Eight buildings surrounding a 2-acre park were designed and permitted in two years.
Current project: Recently agreed to sell 4990 Fairmont in Bethesda, which Starr entitled for 17-story condo. Firm will remain investor; project expected to complete in 2017. 
CRE career start: Cassidy & Pinkard in 1987, selling land. 
Grew up: York, Penn.
Current home: Chevy Chase.
Why DC: Debated between NYC, Boston, and DC to start real estate career after business school. Had already grown tired of Boston winters, and preferred small town DC over NYC. Plus family had moved here. 
Schools: Hobart College and Harvard Business School.
First job: Front desk clerk at Vail, Colorado hotel.
Job in another life: Hedge fund operator. 
Daily habit: Exercising two dogs.
Favorite movie: Any that involve Indiana Jones, James Bond, or Jason Bourne.
Favorite restaurant: Mei Wah.
Favorite music: Country.
Favorite vacation spots: Alta and anywhere in Florida.
Guilty pleasures: Cigars and whiskey.
Bucket list: Helicopter skiing.
Family: Married; two sons (17 and 19); two dogs and one cat. 
Hobbies: Golf, skiing, reading, and kids.
Startling fact: Happily married after 22 years.
