Akridge, Alcion Get Financing To Transform

Vacant YMCA Building Into Trophy Office

A loan from EagleBank will provide 1711 Rhode Island Owner, LLC (controlled and owned by Akridge and Alcion) the funds to transform a vacant YMCA property into a trophy office building. When completed, the 100k SF, seven-story property will be transformed into a boutique office building with four sides of floor-to-ceiling glass and two levels of below-grade parking. Offering tenants a penthouse amenity lounge, multiple roof terraces, a private pocket park and a naturally-lit fitness facility, the architecturally striking building is designed to achieve a LEED Platinum rating. The building occupies a prominent corner of Rhode Island Avenue and 17th Street NW, situated between DC’s popular 14th Street and Dupont Circle areas. Delivery is slated for summer of 2018.
