New 133-Unit Mt. Vernon Triangle Apartment Building Opens
A 133-unit Mt. Vernon Triangle apartment building has opened as Mayor Muriel Bowser joined the development team this week to cut the ribbon.
The Aspen at 4th and L Streets NW was developed by a JV of A&W Development's Rich Ward and Kevin Ash, Premium Title's Ben Soto and Blue Sky Housing's Earl "Chico" Horton III (above, with the mayor). The four owners combined to create 1031 4th St LLC. Ellisdale Construction built the $23.9M project.
The 123k SF building, rendered above, has several amenities, including a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a business center, a club room and a dog wash station.
The project cost $165k per unit and $195 per SF. The units range from 400 SF studios, which start at $1,500/month, to two-bedrooms that start at $2,995 and reach up to 1,125 SF.
Several new multifamily buildings have delivered recently in Mt. Vernon Triangle, and the neighborhood also has some big projects in the pipeline. Mount Vernon Place, the biggest project in the pipeline from Quadrangle and the Wilkes Co, will contain nine buildings with 2.1M SF of residential, office and retail.
